This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and safeguard your data when you use the Who's Who mobile application on Android and iOS, as well as the accompanying web service at whos-who-app.web.app and whos-who.link.
Key Summary: Who's Who is designed as a private personal relationship notebook. We never sell, rent, monetize, or trade your contacts or notes with third parties or data brokers. We do not display third-party advertisements or use tracking networks.
1. Information We Collect
We only collect information that is strictly necessary to deliver the App's core functionality:
- Account & Authentication Information: When you register or sign in to enable Cloud Pro backup (via Google Sign-In, Apple Sign-In, or Email/Password), we receive your basic identifier (email address, user ID, and display name) provided through Google Firebase Authentication.
- User-Generated Contact Data: Information you choose to create within the App about people in your life, such as names, relationships (Family, Friend, Work, Mentor, etc.), birthdays, roles, notes, custom fields, questionnaires, and pinned/starred contacts.
- Subscription & Purchase Information: Subscription status records to verify your Cloud Pro membership. All financial transactions and payments are securely handled exclusively by Google Play Billing on Android or Apple App Store on iOS. We do not collect, process, or store credit card or bank details.
- Diagnostic & Technical Data: High-level application performance and error logs (via Firebase) strictly used to diagnose crashes, resolve bugs, and ensure reliable service.
2. How We Store Your Data (Local vs. Cloud)
Who's Who provides two distinct operating modes depending on your preference:
- Free Mode (Device Storage Only): In Free mode, all contacts, notes, questionnaires, and custom fields are saved locally on your device (using encrypted local storage / SQLite). Your data is not uploaded to our cloud servers.
- Cloud Pro Mode (Secure Cloud Backup & Sync): For subscribers who choose to back up and sync across devices, your data is securely transmitted via TLS encryption and stored in Google Cloud Firestore under your unique account ID. Only your authenticated user account has read/write permission to your personal data.
3. How We Use Your Information
Your information is used exclusively for:
- Displaying, organizing, filtering, and searching your personal contacts and notes.
- Synchronizing your contacts across your authorized devices when Cloud Pro is active.
- Authenticating your account and verifying subscription entitlements.
- Providing customer support when you reach out to us.
4. Data Sharing and Third-Party Services
We do not sell, lease, or share your personal data with third-party advertisers or data brokers. We only interface with trusted infrastructure providers required to operate the App:
- Google Firebase / Google Cloud Platform: Authentication, Firestore database storage, and web hosting infrastructure. Subject to Google Privacy Policy.
- Google Play Billing & Apple App Store: In-app purchase processing.
5. Your Rights and Data Deletion
You have full ownership and control over your data at all times:
- Export Your Data: You can export your entire contact hub at any time into a standard JSON file from the Settings drawer ("Export Hub").
- In-App Deletion: You can wipe all local and cloud data at any time directly within the App via Settings > Delete My Account & Data.
- Email Request: You may also email us at vibecode.sam@gmail.com to request immediate and permanent deletion of your account and all associated cloud data. Requests are processed within 48 hours.
6. Security of Your Information
We employ modern security standards to protect your data, including HTTPS/TLS encryption in transit and Firebase Security Rules that enforce strict user-level authorization, ensuring no other user can access your private contacts.
7. Children's Privacy
Who's Who is not directed toward children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you become aware that a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will promptly delete it.
8. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any updates will be published on this page with an updated Effective Date. Continued use of the App following any changes indicates acceptance of the updated policy.
